Friday, December 15th Periods 1 & 4 Today students will read a short story filled with idioms and should be able to recognize them by following the directions. We will then do a partner activity which will involve writing a short story in class.
Idiom story requirements: We may not start this part until Monday depending on time. *Choose one idiom as the "theme" of the story (for example "in the dog house".) *Choose ten or more idioms from the mural or any you like to fit in your story. *Start writing the story (on loose- paper) and add in the idioms as the fit the plot. *Be sure to use an idiom in the final sentence. *Use an idiom in the title
We will then spend time going through all parts of the 5 paragraph persuasive essay the students have been working on this week. Those who are not finished, Monday, December 18th is the very last day. (Students have had 5 days to complete this essay and were allowed to take it all home to work on also.
